Management of Health and Safety

Health & Safety

Gillespie & McLean Health & Safety

Gillespie and McLean monitor any Lost Time Incidents (LTI’s) across our workforce and subcontractors. Since this came into force 3 years ago, we are proud of the companies achievement in that we are 782 man-days and 50,048 labour hours without a Lost Time Incident. This does not mean we stop doing the basics, this means we do the basics more, in order to ensure all management, workforce and sub contactors take responsibility in regard to the Health, Safety & Well Being of themselves and others.

There may well be a general perception that employees’ health and safety does not significantly benefit your business, this is generally inaccurate as it improves the workforce’s productivity, morale and most of all supports their safe wellbeing. At Gillespie & McLean there is a commitment throughout the business to promote and support Health & Safety.

Legal Responsibilities

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 states it is a company’s legal responsibility to provide a safe working environment for its employees. Therefore, ensuring your employees’ safety reduces the risk of incidents, legal challenges, lost time, lost revenue and reputational damage.

Take a look at our Electrical Fire Safety guide and keep yourself up to date and stay safe at your work place and home.
